There's a better way to visually represent your business. Make a first impression that counts in an online world.
Hi, I'm Steph,
Creativity, helping small, ethical businesses make an impact makes me happy. I absolutely believe in the transformative power of design + illustration to elevate your business, and get your products + services in front of your ideal clients.
Your brand design is the foundation of your brand, it is what you hang every other piece of collateral upon, including your website, packaging, stationery + marketing. That foundation needs to be solid.
I believe great design comes from communication, collaboration + a deep understanding of your business' message, so I can create a brand identity that will speak directly to your customer.
We've all picked up an item we didn't need at the supermarket just because the packaging looked so damned appealing, and the right brand design, that's aligned with your ethos, will help your clients make that exact choice with you. In an online + visual world, you need to attract their eyes first.
I've spent the last 9+ years designing brand identities, packaging, stationery + more, honing my craft in busy graphic design studios, but a few years ago I had my eureka moment.
I've always been passionate about the environment, but until then I hadn't thought how I could change the planet for the better through my work.
It was a cold, but clear and sunny day in January, and I got a phone call at the studio I worked in from a client.
Client - "Steph, the beer advent calendars we produced for [large supermarket chain] haven't sold out, we're left with stock. I'd like you to design a new box so we can sell it as a selection pack."
Me - "But what are you going to do with all the boxes you don't need?"
Client - "Oh, we'll just chuck them"
Me - "Recycle I hope?"
Client - "No"
ARRRRGH. What was I doing?! I couldn't have felt more downhearted. I'd long felt that I was contributing to the problem by designing so much throwaway packaging, but this was the final straw.
I couldn't continue to work with companies who so blatantly valued short term profit over the life of our planet.
Consequently, I made the best decision of my life. I left, and set up my own business. And I vowed to work with clients who make ethical choices, who are striving, like me, to be better.
We don't all need to be perfect, but we all need to try. This is why, if we're printing your stationery, it'll be printed on FSC regulated, or recycled paper. We'll check that the inks are eco-friendly. Want t-shirts? We'll print them on organic cotton. Let's find better solutions together.
